Photoshop Artistry

.

Given my background in photojournalism I was scrupulous about not touching or manipulating anything I documented.  So, when I began playing with photoshop possibilities I was amazed at what I could create. I entered a new world, one within my head, limited only by what I was technicially able to create.

.

I signed up for online courses offered by Sebastian Michaels (see photoartisticlife below) and was just riveted to my computer. I would use my own images from my camera to complete the assignments. I learned about brushes, plug-ins, actions, templates, color look up, overlays, selections, compositing, and more.     As a transition I did a series of posters that combined a new composited image with text to make a more powerful message than a straight documentary photo.

.

Now, while still using my own images, I also draw assets from many  sources.  I believe this process of manipulating images  has helped me enhance even uncomposited images.
