Figures Revealed
Several years ago I was invited by photographers in our local camera club to participate in a nude photography shoot. Five photographers, five models rotated so everyone had a chance with their own backdrops, lighting, and props to take pictures.
I had never done this before, but I was moved by the stories the women told about why they did nude photography. One was using the money to help pay for medical school. Another had always had a poor body image and was using this opportunity to celebrate a new-found vision of herself as beautiful as reflected by our images.
During the Tuscany workshop with Elizabeth Opalenik, many of the models were experienced with nude photography. They were so incredibly natural and professional about the process.
I’m finding now that when the opportunity presents itself, taking photographs of women or men is an incredible way not only to capture the human form but, more important, to reveal internal beauty.
Many of these pictures are taken with InfraRed because I Love the way it further brings out this intrinsic beauty.
